I was born in London but spent many years living in Malta. I eventually came back to England and worked in advertising as an account exec. Think I realised then that I would have been better off on the creative side of the business! Took me an awfully long time and two tiny children (not so tiny now - I am officially the pygmy of the household) under my belt before I started painting and drawing.
I have been illustrating children's books for the past ten years or so since getting my first book, Mimi's Magic Wardrobe, published by Orchard. I work (at the kitchen table) with watercolour and pen. Then I struggle along with my beautiful Mac and the "completely wonderful Photoshop" which I still haven't managed to totally master (more's the pity!). All good fun!
I live in Kew, Richmond with my family and an enormous and fairly uncontrollable dog called Mungo.
